About The Position

As a Senior Job Captain - Production, you will demonstrate consistent success in exceeding the expectations of a Job Captain while taking on increased responsibility in the execution and delivery of architectural projects. In this role, you will play a critical part in guiding projects from concept through construction, collaborating closely with Project Managers and project teams to deliver high-quality, innovative design solutions that meet client objectives. The Senior Job Captain is responsible for coordinating consultants, assigning and managing project team tasks, overseeing drawing and specification development, and ensuring the production and quality of project documentation. This role also supports Construction Administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations. Additionally, you may be asked to assume responsibilities traditionally performed by a Project Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
Architectural licensure preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
2-4 years of experience as a Job Captain or in a similar role with increasing project responsibilities.
Advanced proficiency in Revit and other industry-standard architectural software.
Strong understanding of architectural design principles, building systems, construction methods, and construction documentation.
Thorough knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Project Managers, designers, consultants, and project team members to develop and execute project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Coordinate consultant work and maintain effective communication among project stakeholders.
Translate conceptual designs into detailed construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and specifications.
Assist in the development and refinement of design concepts as needed.
Oversee the preparation and coordination of project drawings and documentation.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and industry regulations.
Ensure project designs and construction documents comply with all relevant codes and standards.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to interns, drafters, and Job Captains.
Foster a collaborative, positive, and high-performing team environment.
Assist in assigning tasks and monitoring project team workloads.
Conduct regular reviews of project documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, coordination, and quality.
Implement and uphold quality control standards and best practices throughout the production process.
Identify and resolve documentation issues proactively.
Assist with administration of construction contracts.
Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with design intent.
Participate in site visits, field observations, and project meetings as required.
Utilize Revit and other industry-standard software to produce and coordinate project documentation.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of production standards and processes.
Maintain proficiency with design, documentation, and project management tools.
