About The Position

Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War customer. The initiative is creating a unified platform for access across multiple production applications, with single sign-on, a shared user interface, and standardized application integration. The engineer will sustain existing applications and implement enhancements that integrate them with the modernized platform. The role requires enterprise Java development expertise, production application support experience, and work in secure cloud environments. The position is remote, full-time, and scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with core hours from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern. Work takes place in two-week sprints, each including a customer demonstration. Travel of 0–10% within the Washington, DC metropolitan area may be required. Government-furnished equipment is required to access Government environments. U.S. citizenship is required, as is a current favorably adjudicated Tier 5 investigation or Top Secret clearance, or eligibility to obtain one. The base salary is $170,000–$180,000, depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 7 years of enterprise Java development experience using Spring Boot.
Strong experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, and RESTful APIs.
Experience operating and supporting production applications in cloud environments.
Familiarity with formal change management processes and privileged-access security controls.
Current favorably adjudicated Tier 5 investigation or active Top Secret clearance; the posting also states candidates must hold one or be eligible to obtain one.
U.S. citizenship.

Experience with React.
Experience with AWS ECS/Fargate and AWS GovCloud.
Experience integrating applications with Pega.

Responsibilities

Maintain and support a production application built with Java Spring Boot, React, and PostgreSQL, containerized using AWS ECS/Fargate.
Manage application defects, security patches, and production releases while maintaining system reliability.
Support API Gateway synchronization with a Pega-based status tracking system.
Implement application-side integrations with the modernization platform, including identity-provider trust, deep linking, redeem endpoints, and feed access.
Maintain operational runbooks and application sustainment baselines.
Participate in the Severity 1 on-call rotation to address critical production incidents.
Identify and remediate security findings to maintain compliance and operational readiness.
