About The Position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join their CCIBT Organization and Collateral and Margin Management Technology team. This role focuses on Platforms Modernization & Regulatory/Compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of Java and a solid foundation in server design methodologies. The successful applicant will be responsible for enhancing, building, and delivering frameworks and business application microservices, leveraging GenAI to accelerate development and build new capabilities. As an AI engineer, you will develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions using large language models, agentic frameworks, and other innovative technologies. The ideal candidate should have experience in designing, developing, and deploying applications that leverage LLM models and systems, with a strong focus on Prompt Engineering, Fine Tuning, RAG implementation, and Agentic frameworks. In this role, you will lead complex initiatives, ensure systems are monitored for operational efficiency and risk mitigation, and stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and LLM frameworks to improve existing systems and develop new ones. You will design, develop, and deploy AI applications using Enterprise APIs, LLMs, agent frameworks, and related technologies, define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing costs, and lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of applications and system components. You will also resolve complex technical issues, ensure compliance and risk management requirements are met, collaborate with stakeholders on key risk initiatives, mentor less experienced engineers, and partner effectively with production support and platform engineering teams.

Requirements

4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience in Spring Boot, JPA, Microservices, SQL and NoSQL
3+ year of experience in Capital Markets Technology working on building solutions in any of the following areas (Pricing & Risk Management, Trade lifecycle, Sales & Trading, Prime services or Securities Clearing and Settlements)
2+ years of experience in React.js
2+ years of experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift
2+ years of experience in Apache Kafka/Confluent Enterprise
2+ years of Experience with SDLC and Agile tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, Confluence etc.
1+ years of experience building and using AI MCPs and Agents.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or equivalent
2+ Years of experience in Enterprise Architecture
Knowledge of SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications) is a HUGE PLUS
2+ years of DevOps tool set based continuous incremental delivery experience
2+ Years of Experience in Blue Green Deployment Model

Experience on GenAI enabled solutions, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic workflows, with a strong understanding of prompt engineering, grounding, and extensibility.
Hands-on experience with major GenAI platforms (e.g., Microsoft VS Code, GitHub Copilot ).
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP), enterprise-grade agentic workflows is highly desirable
Deep knowledge of LLM and API integration, including RESTful API design.

Responsibilities

Lead complex initiatives on selected domains

Design, develop, and deploy AI applications using Enterprise APIs, LLM's, agent frameworks, and other related technologies
Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
Lead, design, develop, test, and implement applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
Resolve coding, testing, and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
Led team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
Mentor less experienced software engineers
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
