About The Position

Designs, builds, and maintains full stack Java applications for the organization using an Agile software development life cycle (SDLC). Develops enterprise Java applications using frameworks such as Spring Boot. The role covers the full development life cycle within a services-oriented architecture, including design, programming, testing, packaging, deploying, and maintaining service and infrastructure components. The position may require travel up to 10% to the Jacksonville, Florida office.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
Four to seven years of software engineering work experience.
Experience with Java development technologies.
Experience with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
Experience with SQL Server.

Knowledge of data integration.
Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms such as OpenShift (OCP), EKS/ECS, or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Experience developing RESTful services and working with microservices applications.

Experience working with cloud-native applications.
Familiarity with relational database technologies such as SQL and PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with nonrelational database technologies such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Experience with XML parsing.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with source code management tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, or Git.
Proficiency in development techniques such as Test Driven Development, unit testing, component testing, and/or scenario testing.
Familiarity with an SDLC that leverages Agile principles.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Any cloud certification, such as AWS, Azure, or OCP.

Responsibilities

Provides full stack design and development of Spring Boot components and migrates legacy components to the target architecture.
Designs and develops APIs for front-end functionality and consumption by partners.
Designs and creates application data models and databases for data persistence.
Works with business analysts and team members to understand business requirements and design quality technical solutions.
Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
Writes technical specifications based on conceptual designs and stated business requirements.
Designs and develops automated unit, component, and scenario tests.
Performs code reviews and follows secure coding practices.
Mentors and guides less experienced software development staff.
Stays current with company SDLC standards.
Collaborates with engineers, vendor partners, and business owners to ensure finished solutions meet business and customer needs.
Performs additional related duties as assigned.
