About The Position

ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Java Engineer for the Investments & Capital Markets forecasting platform at a major financial services organization in McLean. You will tighten access control, job queuing, and workflow orchestration, and modernize the UI. Java/Spring on the back end and React on the front end are both in play.

Requirements

• 5+ years hands-on software development (Java required).
• Java Spring, Git, Unix, and Jenkins.
• JavaScript frameworks, React.js required.
• Experience implementing access control / authorization.
• Experience with job scheduling or queuing.
• Experience designing and building modern web UIs.
• Ability to work on-site in McLean, VA.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Python.
• 1–2 years Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
• Optimizing long-running or distributed compute pipelines.
• Financial forecasting, risk, or capital-markets platforms.

Responsibilities

• Enhance access control and authorization.
• Extend job queuing and scheduling (concurrent runs, priority, resource allocation).
• Streamline end-to-end workflows; refactor orchestration and inter-component coordination.
• Analyze run pipelines, produce performance stats, and optimize long-running jobs.
• Modernize UI structure, hierarchy, usability, and layout.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
