About The Position

This position is for a senior Java/Database developer with 5-7 years of experience in Securities Reference Data. The candidate will join a business-oriented squad focused on building and maintaining applications within the existing SRD platforms, as well as contributing to ongoing renovation efforts. In this role, the candidate will collaborate with other squad members and global squads, as well as stakeholders, to perform daily tasks. The candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with users and business analysts, translate business requirements into technical architecture, and independently manage end-to-end deliverables. Strong due diligence in task execution is required, and familiarity with financial jargon, particularly in the reference data domain, will be a significant advantage. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player committed to on-time delivery and capable of working with minimal supervision. The candidate will be required to work with geographically dispersed teams.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant IT experience, preferably in Financial Services or Wealth Management.
• Good understanding of one core programming language (Java or Python).
• RDBMS (Well versed with SQL, DB fundamentals like tables, triggers, stored Procs etc.).
• Comfortable with working in a Linux environment.
• Comfortable with using AI coding agents (Github Copilot etc.).
• JSON, XML Schemas.
• Good understanding of SDLC methodologies.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner; individually or in front of a group.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work.
• Ability to work with geographically dispersed teams.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of open-source frameworks: Spring, Spring boot, Hibernate.
• REST APIs, Microservices.
• Knowledge of MongoDB.
• Scripting knowledge (Shell, Python).
• Familiarity with Autosys, Cron Job, Airflow concepts.
• Messaging technologies – Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Familiarity with financial jargon especially applicable to reference data domain.
