About The Position

Join us in shaping the future of customer experiences with our client, a global leader in cloud contact center software. As a Senior Java Developer, you will join the Identity Platform team responsible for authentication, authorization, user lifecycle management, and access control services used across the entire product ecosystem. The team develops and operates business-critical microservices that power secure access for both customers and internal services. You will work on modern Java-based microservices running in Google Cloud Platform, contributing to highly available and scalable systems that support millions of authentication and authorization requests. This is a hands-on engineering role offering the opportunity to work with cloud-native technologies, distributed systems, modern CI/CD practices, and security-focused platform services. Engineers in this team follow a full ownership model and participate in development, testing, deployment, and production support activities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Java development, including Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and supporting highly available, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
  • Experience with production ownership, including service reliability, performance optimization, incident response, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with database design, query optimization, and performance tuning in distributed systems.
  • Understanding of identity and access management concepts, such as Web Authentication, SSO, OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect, Federation, IDP, or CIAM/CIAM-related platforms, is a strong plus.
  • Experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
  • Experience participating in on-call rotations and supporting production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, ownership-driven engineering culture.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Okta or other Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms.
  • Experience with distributed databases such as CockroachDB, Cassandra, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly available Java microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Build and enhance identity and access management services, including authentication, authorization, OAuth workflows, security token management, and user lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs and cloud-native applications running on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Contribute to the architecture, design, and modernization of a large-scale SaaS platform while solving complex scalability, reliability, and security challenges.
  • Gain a deep understanding of existing systems and actively contribute to their continuous improvement and evolution.
  • Write and maintain automated tests, ensuring high code quality and adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the software stack, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support for critical services.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, providing support for production systems approximately twice per week between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM IST, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and taking ownership of services throughout their lifecycle.
