About The Position

Our Senior Java Developer designs, builds, and maintains the back-end services that power the Medicare Provider Portal, and the Apache Camel based integration applications, delivering secure, high-performance code that meets healthcare compliance and quality standards. They ensure adherence to architectural guidelines, coding standards, and CI/CD processes while collaborating with product owners, QA, and operations to translate requirements into reliable, test-driven solutions. This Sr Java Developer supports the organization’s broader goal of remaining a leader among Medicare contractors by ensuring a high quality, secure, and performant provider experience that reinforces the company’s reputation for excellence and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience building enterprise-grade Java SE/EE applications, writing production-ready code, and applying unit-and integration-testing.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting Apache Camel-based integration solutions that expose and consume secure RESTful services, configure routes, handle errors, and connect to legacy systems, web services, and message brokers.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Scrum teams, delivering user-story increments, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, and using Scrum artifacts to manage work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Wired (ethernet cable) internet connection from your router to your computer.
  • High speed cable or fiber Minimum of 10 Mbps downstream and at least 1 Mbps upstream internet connection.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Medicare provider-portal workflows, CMS regulatory considerations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH), and common health-data exchange standards (HL7, X12, FHIR) sufficient to understand business requirements and compliance impacts.
  • Expertise with SQL Server queries and stored procedures.
  • A working understanding of OAuth 2.0 (Open Authorization) for API security.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) for pipelines and story management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical liaison between business stakeholders and the development team.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, and operations teams to deliver solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Analyze requirements and prepare specifications and documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain the core Java services that power the Medicare Provider Portal.
  • Build, enhance, test, and support Apache Camel based integration applications.
  • Translate technical concepts into business terminology ensuring effective communication between IT and clients.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and effort estimation.
  • Diagnose and resolve production incidents and performance degradations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers and promote knowledge sharing and cross-team collaboration to ensure alignment with enterprise development and security practices.
