About The Position

The Sr. Janitor is a key frontline role responsible for delivering high-quality janitorial services across the Tek Beaverton campus, including office, R&D, manufacturing, laboratory, cleanroom, warehouse, café, and common spaces. This position requires advanced janitorial experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in regulated and critical environments. The Sr. Janitor supports cleaning activities in cleanrooms and labs in strict compliance with established protocols and contamination control requirements. The role also serves as an experienced resource to support quality standards, training, inspections, and audit readiness, working closely with the Janitorial Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of janitorial experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
  • Experience working in regulated, manufacturing, laboratory, or cleanroom environments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of janitorial methods, chemical usage, and contamination control principles.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions with a high degree of accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Cleanroom experience (ISO or similar controlled environments).
  • Experience supporting inspections, audits, or regulated operations.
  • Prior experience providing informal leadership or training support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily janitorial tasks including floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming), surface cleaning, trash and recycling removal, restroom sanitation, and breakroom/café cleaning.
  • Maintain offices, conference rooms, corridors, common spaces, and high-traffic areas according to defined schedules and standards.
  • Ensure work is completed consistently, safely, and to required quality expectations.
  • Perform janitorial services in cleanrooms, labs, and manufacturing spaces in accordance with SOPs, contamination control practices, and site-specific requirements.
  • Use only approved chemicals, tools, and consumables designated for regulated environments.
  • Strictly follow gowning, PPE, and cleanroom entry/exit procedures.
  • Identify and immediately report spills, deviations, or contamination risks to the Janitorial Supervisor.
  • Follow defined cleaning frequencies, methods, and documentation requirements per the Janitorial Scope.
  • Support inspections, audits, and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Complete cleaning logs, checklists, and required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Safely handle, label, and store chemicals in compliance with SDS and safety requirements.
  • Operate janitorial equipment correctly and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Comply with all environmental health and safety (EHS) policies.
  • Act as a senior-level resource and mentor for other janitorial staff when assigned.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and reinforcement of best practices.
  • Communicate supply needs, quality issues, and improvement opportunities to the Janitorial Supervisor.
  • Support coverage changes, special requests, and priority work as needed.
