Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT) team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst do for us? With minimal supervision, they work on domain specific solution(s)/application(s) with strong business process and end-to-end technical knowledge. Their primary functions include: * Acting as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholders * Establishing and maintaining relationships with the designated business partners to support strategic objectives * Facilitating solution assessment through analysis, management, communication of requirements, translation and alignment on solutions that meet IT strategy and business objectives * Analyzing and assisting the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions and documenting solution(s) * Being the first line of support for end users * Troubleshooting and issue resolution * Developing and maintaining complex reports and queries * System configuration and prototyping * Understanding of complex technology and applications; has experience with a multitude of business processes and information systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field OR An equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certifications
  • 5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experience
  • Knowledge of Business analyst principles, requirements management, business case development, requirements elicitation, communication, analysis, advanced application functionality and process modeling
  • Knowledge of Adaptive and predictive project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Creating technical design specifications
  • Knowledge of Developing reports, dashboards, and queries
  • Knowledge of Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with configuration items and development objects
  • Skills in Requirements management from planning to execution
  • Skills in Developing and tracking project requirements
  • Skills in Verbal and written communication
  • Skills in Meeting facilitation and negotiation
  • Skills in Creating and maintaining business relationships
  • Skills in Problem solving, making sound recommendations and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Skills in Basic SQL capabilities
  • Skills in Implementation of ERP systems and/or custom developed solutions
  • Ability to Use sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to Understand table structures
  • Ability to Gather business requirements, interpret technical specifications and relate them to system functionality
  • Ability to Facilitate work sessions with stakeholders to design or redesign business processes to meet requirements
  • Ability to Manage assigned project tasks
  • Ability to Manage multiple technology projects/initiatives
  • Ability to Communicate clearly with technical personnel along with all levels of business leadership and project stakeholders
  • Ability to Prioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectively
  • Ability to Effectively translate business requirements into design specifications that can be leveraged by a developer to create a solution that meets business objectives
  • Ability to Proactively identify potential issues before they impact end users
  • Ability to Respond promptly and professionally to issues identified by end users, assist in identification and implementation of resolution
