About The Position

Information Technology (IT) professional with overall responsibility to deliver expected outcomes for information technology projects. Familiarity with hardware, software, networks, infrastructure, integrations, information management, data, desktop computing, operational technology, and cyber security is vital to their role. Applies IT methodologies, concepts, and platforms, including System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Waterfall and Agile Development, Cloud Computing, ITIL, and complex IT architectures, in order to deliver successful outcomes. Identifies and recruits people with varied IT expertise to form cohesive teams focused on a shared vision and clarity of purpose. Utilizes tools, approaches, and concepts from multiple disciplines including project management, team facilitation, vendor management, stakeholder management, organizational change management, and consulting in order to identify, define, and deliver IT solutions to business challenges. Develops business acumen to aid in decision making and risk mitigation during IT projects. Understands partnership and dependencies of operational technology (OT) with information technology (IT) and contributes to OT/IT objectives. Influences and motivates others to create a sense of urgency. Provides leadership to deliver business value through IT solutions to business problems, challenges, and advancements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required.
  • In lieu of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling 11 years may be considered.
  • Experience in leading IT projects and teams to develop solutions that meet business needs.
  • Breadth and depth of experience and knowledge of Information Technology (IT) concepts, systems, security, and foundational architectures and processes.
  • Breadth and depth of experience and knowledge of Project Management concepts and tools as applied to IT and other technology-related projects.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to elicit high performance and cooperation from business, analytical, technical, and management resources, while maintaining positive relationships across the enterprise and at all levels within the organization.
  • Willingness to tackle challenging, diverse, complex, and sometimes ill-defined business problems.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate and bring the best out of teams.
  • Effective and transparent communicator.
  • Politically savvy; ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics to achieve successful project outcomes along with positive employee experiences.
  • Executive presence and ability to know when and how to present critical information to executive leadership.
  • Ability to translate highly complex technical matters into simplistic, understandable terms to help facilitate decision making and problem solving.
  • Has technical or functional subject matter expertise that is not readily available but is required for a specific project.
  • Competent, credible, proactive leader who gets things done.

  • Experience in consulting helpful but not required.
  • Experience leading technical projects and integrated workstreams, such as for ERP (SAP) efforts, is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of IT professionals to develop and deliver complex IT solutions to the enterprise as a whole or to a specific business area.
  • Work collaboratively with IT development teams, IT infrastructure teams, technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), application owners and administrators, IT architects, Information Management professionals, data scientists, IT professional services, IT vendors, Cyber Security, OT/IT partners, and business SMEs to complete complex technical projects.
  • Identify and communicate risks to project success and prepare probability analysis and plans for mitigating risks that occur.
  • Participate with the team and vendors in identifying and mitigating potential technical problems and roadblocks.
  • Leverage technical skills and knowledge of systems and applications to identify and resolve technical issues on the project.
  • Consider benefits of Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid, or other approaches to each unique project and apply development and project management principles and tools effectively using the selected approach.
  • Utilize expertise on the team to prepare breakdown of work, anticipated task durations, dependencies among tasks and milestones, and overall project plan and schedule.
  • Validate estimates and contingencies based on multiple inputs, experience from past projects, and judgement.
  • Follow agreed-upon IT project execution methodology and reporting requirements, and target defined metrics for scope, timeliness, and budget.
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of project execution, including project definition and charter, stakeholder management, communication, business analysis, business process change, organizational change management, and effective use of technical and business resources, including human, financial, facilities, equipment, information, and material resources.
  • Act as primary interface to the client for all aspects of the assigned project and communicate at the appropriate level to each stakeholder.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels of leadership.
  • Represent SRP’s interests to vendors and maintain effective and appropriate vendor relationships.
  • Provide leadership and take accountability for projects that are typically: Technology-focused, Duration of one year or multiple years, Departmental, functional, or enterprise impact, Medium to high risk/complexity, Medium to high business value, Medium to large team size, Medium to high budget ($2 million to $10 million).
