About The Position

This position will be responsible for managing multiple medium to large size system-wide projects involving a variety of information technology platforms. This role will serve as a leader in Information Services (IS) and will lead the department in continually enhancing project management techniques and methods. As a lead, this position will also serve as a mentor to new or less experienced project managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: Project Management (Required)
  • PMP - Project Management Professional - Project Management Institute
  • Degree required and/or equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree
  • PMP - PMP Field of Study: Project Management
  • Six years in a project manager role or comparable work Experience
  • PMI- focused project management training or comparable training
  • Experience managing multiple medium to large scale IT projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification recommended (PMP, PgMP, or PfMP) ; otherwise, a plan for attainment OR a graduate level Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Healthcare, or Business Administration
  • Eight years or more of IT project management experience in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Leads project teams through planning, executing, and controlling activities that result in completing deliverables that meet the customers requirements.
  • Common project work includes planning for project scope, budget, schedule, resource management, risk management, performance management, and stakeholder management.
  • Leads multiple medium to large complex projects simultaneously while proactively identifying and managing stakeholders, validating customer, business and technical success factors, expectations and communicates effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Leads projects in a manner consistent with the IS PMO methodology.
  • Monitors compliance with project management standards.
  • Promotes effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Effectively communicates with executives.
  • Engages project sponsors regularly to improve project outcomes.
  • Effectively facilitates and presents at project meetings.
  • Effectively solves problems and facilitates decision making.
  • Provides leadership in Information Services or respective department.
  • Takes an active role in continually advancing and improving project management practices and actively leads initiatives to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Serves in the role of a mentor to new or less experienced project managers.
  • Coaches project managers to improve performance, as appropriate.
  • Sets an example for project accountability and professional behavior.
  • Promotes a team atmosphere and regularly shares knowledge with others.
  • As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
