Senior IT Project Manager – ERP Transformation
About The Position
Join a well-established North American distribution organization supporting a large network of locations and complex supply chain operations. The business partners with major global manufacturers and has built its reputation around strong customer relationships, technical expertise, and dependable service. The technology organization is advancing a broader digital strategy, with major modernization initiatives designed to improve how business functions, systems, and operational teams work together. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Cranford, New Jersey, where you can expect to work onsite up to three weeks per month. You will lead highly visible, enterprise-scale technology transformation initiatives, partner directly with senior business and technology leaders across multiple functions, and play a central role in major, multi-year ERP modernization and implementation programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- 10+ years of related project/program management experience supporting complex technology environments.
- Demonstrated success managing at least two full-scale ERP upgrades or implementations.
- Direct experience managing ERP programs through design, testing, implementation, and operationalization.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based ERP platforms and enterprise implementation lifecycles.
- Proven ability to manage complex programs spanning multiple business functions such as Accounting, Sales, Inventory Management, Warehousing, and IT.
- Strong knowledge of project and program management practices including business cases, schedules, budgets, risk management, resource planning, and governance.
- Experience managing external vendors, third-party partners, and distributed project resources.
- Executive-level communication and presentation skills with experience providing concise program status, risks, decisions, and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams and leaders without direct authority.
- Experience working with project delivery tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, or comparable platforms.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, conflict-management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within changing priorities, ambiguity, and deadline-driven environments.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with organizational change management methodologies is a plus.
- Active PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP, Agile, or comparable project management certification is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale technology projects and strategic programs from planning through implementation and operationalization.
- Drive complex, multi-year ERP upgrades and implementations spanning multiple business and technology workstreams.
- Build integrated program plans that connect cross-functional dependencies, milestones, resources, risks, budgets, and deliverables.
- Coordinate internal teams, business stakeholders, vendor partners, and outsourced resources to keep programs aligned with scope, schedule, quality, and business objectives.
- Oversee requirements, project scope, testing, implementation readiness, change enablement, stakeholder communications, and post-launch activities.
- Manage project and program budgets, including labor and capital or operating resource requirements.
- Identify risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery obstacles while driving appropriate mitigation and escalation.
- Establish clear program reporting and provide consolidated updates to executives, project sponsors, portfolio leadership, and governance teams.
- Define measurable project success criteria and ensure progress is evaluated against business outcomes.
- Lead post-project retrospectives and translate lessons learned into stronger delivery practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization using structured project and Lean principles.
- Maintain strong project governance, documentation, and consistent adherence to established delivery processes.
