About The Position

Barnes Aerospace is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Manager responsible for the strategic planning, design, implementation, and management of the company’s IT infrastructure across all aerospace operations. This role ensures high availability, security, scalability, and compliance of systems supporting engineering, manufacturing, and business functions. The position plays a critical role in enabling digital transformation while maintaining strict adherence to aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. This position can be remote, within a commuting distance to our CT locations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record to building, leading and empowering high performance teams.
  • Deep knowledge of: Enterprise networking and security architectures
  • Deep knowledge of: Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Deep knowledge of: Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Deep knowledge of: Backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation tools, and scripting

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, CISM (or equivalent), AWS/Azure solutions Architect or similar cloud certification, ITIL certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a long-term IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business and aerospace program objectives
  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers, system administrators, and network specialists
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align IT capabilities with operational and strategic goals
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for performance, reliability, and cost optimization
  • Oversee design, deployment, and maintenance of Data centers (on-prem and cloud/hybrid environments); Enterprise networks (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN); Server infrastructure (Windows/Linux, virtualization platforms) and storage and backup solutions
  • Ensure high system availability and disaster recovery readiness
  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to enforce security best practices and policies
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace and regulatory standards (ITAR, NIST / CMMC frameworks, ISO 27001 / AS9100)
  • Manage risk assessments, audits, and remediation activities
  • Lead cloud adoption strategies (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments)
  • Support modernization initiatives including automation, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve operational efficiency and resilience
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and infrastructure performance metrics
  • Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL-based)
  • Ensure effective capacity planning and system scalability
  • Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors, service providers, and contractors
  • Negotiate contracts and oversee service delivery performance
  • Develop and manage infrastructure budgets, ensuring cost efficiency
