Position Summary The Senior Financial Systems Manager provides strategic and technical leadership for enterprise financial applications, including Lawson, Workday Financials, and BlackLine. This role directs application managers and cross‑functional teams, overseeing the full lifecycle of financial systems to ensure scalability, security, regulatory compliance, and alignment with business objectives. The position partners closely with Finance, IT, and executive leadership to deliver reliable, high‑impact solutions that enable accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise financial systems management, implementation, and support.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting Lawson, Workday Financials, and BlackLine platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage complex software implementation and optimization projects in a financial systems environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, including general ledger, close and consolidation, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional business and technical teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise application software; technical aptitude with integrations and data flows.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, manages, and mentors application managers and technical teams responsible for enterprise financial systems, driving the delivery of high‑impact solutions and stable ongoing support.
  • Oversees the implementation, deployment, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise financial platforms, including Lawson, Workday Financials, and BlackLine.
  • Provides strategic direction and hands‑on guidance for complex system integrations, upgrades, and financial transformation initiatives.
  • Partners with Finance, Accounting, Audit, and IT stakeholders to align system capabilities with business processes, controls, and reporting requirements.
  • Drives cross‑functional project execution by developing implementation strategies, timelines, and governance models.
  • Serves as a senior escalation point for complex system issues, guiding resolution of high‑risk or high‑visibility challenges.
  • Influences technology and process decisions by providing clear recommendations and insights to senior and executive leadership.
  • Ensures seamless integration between financial systems and upstream/downstream enterprise applications.
  • Facilitates strategic discussions with stakeholders by delivering project status updates, risk assessments, and resolution plans.
  • Identifies technical training needs, supports skill development, and evaluates performance of both systems and team members.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements new technologies, software platforms, and cloud solutions to improve financial operations and system performance.
  • Ensures adherence to security, compliance, audit, and internal control standards across all financial systems.
