About The Position

About the role The Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for ensuring Amcor has the proper visibility, detection, and protection to secure the organization. They provide strategic input on the IT security roadmap and delivery of our comprehensive security strategy. The role is also responsible for global information security design and integration to ensure technology implementations are configured securely and appropriately. The role requires deep technical expertise, strategic insight, and the ability to mentor junior staff while collaborating across departments to strengthen the organization’s security posture. They are a senior technical expert on all matters of security, and work at the direction of IT Security Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience working in a cybersecurity focused role
  • The right candidate could have a different combination of experience, degrees, certifications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed teams.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and methodologies.
  • Expertise in network security, cloud security, and/or endpoint protection.
  • Expertise managing security technologies such as endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and SIEM.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)

Responsibilities

  • Lead global IT security strategy including metrics, program improvements, and innovative ways to mitigate business risk while improving security.
  • Play a key role in the identification, assessment, prioritization and remediation processes of cyber security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Apply knowledge of threats, vulnerabilities, risk, and technical systems to build strategic roadmaps to harden systems and close vulnerabilities.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize enterprise-grade security solutions across networks, endpoints, cloud environments, and applications.
  • Actively drive policy improvements and own technical recommendations for policy adjustments.
  • Drive control transformation from detective controls to preventative controls.
  • Evaluate current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, security, compatibility, or usability to ensure proper alignment with global security strategy.
  • Critical contributor in building and adopting new security technologies while supporting day-to-day security activities from incident handling and response, security monitoring, alerting, and more.
  • Support response to security incidents which may include on-call and availability outside of standard business hours.
