This role supports the execution of the audit plan, encompassing all phases of IT audits including planning, risk assessment, walkthroughs, process documentation, operating effectiveness testing, and reporting. The Senior IT Auditor will operate independently with limited oversight from the Manager of IT Audit. This position assists with ongoing monitoring of project status, including budget, to ensure projects move forward and raises potential concerns to audit management. The role identifies gaps and informs solutions to minimize losses from inadequate internal processes, systems, or human error, and identifies, responds to, and/or escalates risks as appropriate. Additionally, the Senior IT Auditor reviews workpapers, coaches staff auditors, and provides on-the-job training. The role leverages data analytics and AI-enabled techniques to enhance audit coverage, efficiency, and insight, and provides assistance for IT portions of internal/external/forensic audits, special projects, and continuous auditing and monitoring. The Senior IT Auditor remains informed and provides insight into emerging technologies and risks affecting the credit union's strategies/objectives, processes, and controls.
