About The Position

Packz is a best-in-class gamified collectibles platform where users can open digital packs, receive physical trading cards, and either have them shipped or sell them back instantly. In just six months since launch, users have opened more than $15M of packs and shipped tens of thousands of cards. Backed by prominent investors, Packz has a live web product with strong traction and is launching its iOS app this month. This is an opportunity to join a small, highly hands-on team early on, contributing to a product in a $100B+ category. The role involves significant ownership over the future of iOS development at Packz, requiring fast shipping, strong technical decision-making, and raising the quality bar. The Senior iOS Engineer will collaborate closely with founders and the engineering team to build product features end-to-end, enhance app architecture and developer workflows, and contribute to making Packz a leading consumer app.

Requirements

4+ years of professional iOS development experience building consumer-facing apps
Strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and modern iOS app architecture
Experience shipping and maintaining high-quality production apps or major features
Strong product sense and an instinct for smooth, intuitive, high-quality mobile UX
Ability to independently own features and technical decisions from concept to launch
Familiarity with popular AI development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and a habit of using AI heavily to improve workflows and ship faster
Strong communication skills and comfort working closely with founders in a fast-moving environment

Nice To Haves

Experience with gaming, collectibles, fintech, marketplaces, or other high-engagement consumer products
Experience with animations, media-heavy experiences, interactive UI, or delight-oriented product moments
Familiarity with networking layers, async flows, analytics, App Store release processes, and mobile performance optimization
Experience improving engineering standards, app structure, or developer workflows
An App Store link or GitHub project you can share that shows how you build

Responsibilities

Own major parts of the Packz iOS app from technical design through implementation, release, and iteration
Build and improve core user journeys across pack discovery, purchasing, opening, collection, wallet, redemption, and retention
Make thoughtful technical decisions around architecture, app structure, performance, reliability, and maintainability
Write high-quality Swift code and build polished, production-ready interfaces in SwiftUI and modern iOS patterns
Use AI-assisted tools and workflows to move faster, improve code quality, and increase engineering output
Use tools like Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, and similar products effectively to accelerate execution, unblock development, and ship faster
Partner closely with founders, design, backend engineers, and other teammates to translate product ideas into great mobile experiences
Raise the quality bar through strong technical judgment, code review, debugging, refactoring, and attention to detail
Improve the speed and effectiveness of iOS development over time, including tooling, patterns, and engineering workflows
