Senior iOS Engineer, Crypto Perpetuals
About The Position
The Crypto Perpetuals team is building Robinhood’s advanced mobile trading experience for customers seeking fast, intuitive access to crypto derivatives markets. The team develops workflows for monitoring price action, understanding market depth, managing risk, and placing trades in rapidly moving markets, combining high-performance UI, real-time market data, and complex trading systems. As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will design and build performant mobile experiences for real-time data, sophisticated trading flows, and reliable trade execution. You will partner with product, design, backend engineering, and data teams to deliver intuitive tools for active traders, and help raise the team’s technical bar through architecture, execution, and mentorship. The position is based in the Menlo Park, California; New York, New York; or Toronto, Ontario office. In-person attendance is expected at least three days per week. The role is restricted to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of professional experience developing iOS applications.
- Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS development frameworks.
- Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies, particularly for data-intensive or real-time use cases.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners to deliver customer-focused technical solutions.
- Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform improvements.
- Clear communication skills and ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable iOS application architecture for advanced crypto trading experiences.
- Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, intuitive mobile trading tools.
- Improve application performance, real-time data handling, observability, and release stability across core crypto trading workflows.
- Lead technical planning and provide guidance in system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution for high-stakes trading features.
- Mentor iOS engineers through code reviews, technical feedback, and structured development support.
- Contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
