About The Position

Our team provides partner services related to Investment Management, Strategy and Asset Allocation. We create, maintain, and communicate asset allocation models to support and optimize product pricing strategies. Analysis is responsive to real time changes in market conditions to achieve the best results for clients. The Senior Investment Professional uses ALM and portfolio management expertise to support optimal investment allocations to support product pricing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
  • 8 to 12 years of investment experience in asset/liability management (ALM), enterprise risk management (ERM), or similar field.
  • Proven analytical ability combined with an excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of fixed income securities, including corporate bonds, CMO, MBS, ABS and commercial mortgage loans.
  • Understanding of prepayment and default models.
  • Proficiency with database tools and cashflow modeling.
  • Experience with fixed income portfolio modeling software.
  • Experience with economic capital and rating agency capital requirements of various asset classes.
  • Understanding of life insurance and annuity products.
  • Familiarity with actuarial models.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • CFA designation or work toward designation preferred.
  • Experience in Actuary preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses significant judgement on moderate to complex Asset/Liability Management (ALM) and Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) problems, covers mid-large, moderately complex accounts.
  • Accountable for multiple processes or programs and may have input on department budgets.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge as a senior individual contributor.
  • Provides strategic contributions to the team and business partners.
  • Helps optimize investment portfolio allocations under insurance liability constraints, economic capital, and rating agency capital considerations.
  • Partners with other areas of Nationwide to design investment policy targets and limits.
  • Builds and utilizes quantitative models and analytical frameworks to evaluate asset allocation strategies, market scenarios, and assess profitability, risk, and competitiveness.
  • Supports portfolio strategy for product pricing, institutional transactions, and corporate development initiatives.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
