About The Position

This role sits at the intersection of the Investment teams and the Technology Delivery in Enterprise Data & Integrations. As a Senior Investment Data Analyst, you will work across investment, business and technology teams to design and deliver valuable data features, support enterprise data change and transformation initiatives, and extract measurable value from investment data. You will play a pivotal role by leading analysis projects that drive business impact through data.

Requirements

• Five or more years of experience in a data analyst, business data analyst or comparable role within asset management, investment management or financial services.
• Strong fixed income and investment data knowledge, with practical understanding of how data supports portfolio management, trading, risk, performance and operations.
• Proven track record leading analysis on large-scale data transformation, platform migration or investment data change initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience writing SQL and Python scripts for analysis, validation, reconciliation and automation.
• Experience with data warehouses or cloud platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proven ability to write high-quality requirements, process maps, data mappings, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with data quality, governance, metadata, lineage, controls, QA and UAT.
• Demonstrated experience with Power BI, Tableau or a similar reporting tool.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Initiative and the ability to design solutions and progress complex work with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication and time-management skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• A team player with a client-first mindset.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Aladdin, Aladdin Data Cloud, Snowflake, Bloomberg, FactSet, Charles River, S&P EDM or EAGLE.
• Knowledge of Australian fixed income markets and instruments, including government and corporate bonds, securitised assets, derivatives and cash products.
• Experience with Agile delivery, Jira, data catalogues and enterprise data governance tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaboration with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, risk, performance, operations, product owners and technology teams to understand fixed income data challenges, objectives and needs.
• Partner with the Investment Data Product Owner to translate business needs into technical specifications and agile features, including data models, mappings and pipeline designs. Evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Represent Australian Fixed Income and its stakeholders on cross-functional data change and transformation projects. Serve as a key liaison across Investments, Enterprise Data & Integrations, peer data owners and delivery teams.
• Conduct comprehensive data analysis, profiling and reconciliation using SQL, Python and ETL or data-quality tools to support decisions, enhance data quality and resolve operational issues.
• Act as a subject matter expert for fixed income investment data, including security, holdings, transactions, portfolios, benchmarks, risk, performance, analytics, reference and market data.
• Support the transition of investment data capabilities to strategic platforms, including Aladdin, Aladdin Data Cloud and Snowflake, while maintaining appropriate controls and continuity for downstream consumers.
• Document data flows, lineage, ownership, definitions, controls and business rules. Champion data governance and data-quality standards across the investment data lifecycle.
• Together with the product owner, lead agile planning activities, including risk identification, user story definition, feature prioritisation and dependency management.
• Lead or support mapping validation, Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, defect triage, release readiness and business sign-off.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators and provide actionable insights.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams to develop data pipelines and analytics solutions within agile frameworks.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, tools and best practices in investment data analysis and data management.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts.
• Collaborate across regions and time zones as required, including Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.
