About The Position

The Senior Intrusion Analyst plays a critical role in enhancing cybersecurity by leading intrusion detection, incident response, and risk management efforts. This position involves analyzing complex security events, developing mitigation strategies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to safeguard organizational assets. The role requires expertise in security operations, cyber incident protocols, data analytics, and infrastructure design to proactively identify and address vulnerabilities. The Senior Intrusion Analyst also drives continuous improvement of security policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and evolving threat landscapes to protect business operations effectively. The Walmart Security Operations Center (SOC) is a centralized unit focused on monitoring, detecting, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats across Walmart’s global technology environment. The team utilizes advanced tools and frameworks to identify and mitigate risks, safeguarding critical assets. Members collaborate to enhance security protocols, analyze cyber incidents, and implement effective response strategies. Emphasizing continuous improvement through data-driven insights and adherence to established procedures, the SOC supports Walmart’s commitment to maintaining a secure and resilient technology infrastructure worldwide.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of intrusion detection, prevention, and cyber incident response protocols.
  • Proven experience in cyber risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and security information and event management (SIEM).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques for threat identification and incident analysis.
  • Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures and incident management playbooks.
  • Expertise in coordinating with stakeholders to drive effective intrusion and cyber incident management.
  • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity threats and industry best practices for risk management.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead containment, recovery, and prevention of cyber incidents.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 3 years’ experience in intrusion analysis or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
  • 5 years’ experience in intrusion analysis or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Security+, Network+, GISF, CISA ,CISSP, CCSP, or GCIH
  • Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 1 year’s experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects
  • Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Responsibilities

  • Lead detection, analysis, and response to cyber intrusions using advanced security operations center processes.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures for intrusion and incident management aligned with industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance intrusion detection and mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate risk treatments.
  • Integrate and analyze data from multiple sources to provide comprehensive incident insights and drive containment efforts.
  • Guide recovery and prevention processes following security incidents to minimize organizational impact.
  • Utilize data analytics tools to identify patterns and support continuous improvement in security posture.
