About The Position

Mercyhealth is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join their team. This role will assist the Director of Internal Audit in performing internal audit and corporate compliance duties, including cash control, surprise cash counts, and annual physical inventory. The Senior Internal Auditor will also perform audits and reviews as directed and assist with corporate compliance activities. The position requires a high level of independent judgment and offers substantial latitude for independent action. Mercyhealth is an integrated health system serving northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin, recognized for its commitment to its people and culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business administration with concentration in accounting or other related area preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years audit experience in health care industry preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical/interpretive skills.
  • High degree of accuracy.
  • Proficiency in application of computers and software programs such as Excel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; the Internet; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the partner is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The partner is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
