About The Position

The Senior Interface Analyst supports the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) by leading interface analysis, implementation, and operational support activities. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and external partners to ensure reliable data exchange, system interoperability, and compliance with healthcare data standards. The position is responsible for managing interface lifecycles, supporting data migration initiatives, troubleshooting integration issues, and ensuring successful delivery of interface-related projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 8 or more years of IT experience with strong interface analysis and integration experience
  • Experience working on large-scale integration and data exchange projects
  • Strong understanding of interface design, data structures, and system integration principles
  • Experience with SOAP and REST web services
  • Experience with XML, XSD schema design, and validation techniques
  • Experience with SFTP and file transfer technologies
  • Experience with encryption, decryption, and secure data exchange methods
  • Strong SQL and database validation skills
  • Experience creating technical specifications and interface documentation
  • Strong business analysis skills across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and validate interface requirements with business teams, vendors, and external partners
  • Design, maintain, and update interface specifications, schemas, record layouts, and file structures
  • Develop and document technical interface requirements and integration designs
  • Define and maintain SOAP, REST, and FHIR interface specifications, including request and response formats
  • Coordinate implementation and enhancement of interfaces between internal and external systems
  • Support file-based and web service integrations across healthcare systems and trading partners
  • Ensure integration solutions align with business requirements and healthcare interoperability standards
  • Maintain interface documentation and technical specifications throughout the project lifecycle
  • Configure and manage SFTP connections for inbound and outbound data exchanges
  • Maintain file transfer schedules, directory structures, encryption standards, and access controls
  • Support HIPAA-compliant data exchange processes
  • Monitor interface operations and proactively identify risks or issues
  • Participate in design reviews, technical walkthroughs, and testing activities
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing and end-to-end integration testing
  • Validate XML, file exchange transactions, web services, and API integrations
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance during testing and implementation
  • Investigate and resolve interface failures, connectivity issues, and data transmission problems
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for interface-related production incidents
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, development, and support teams to resolve technical issues
  • Provide post-implementation support and stabilization activities
  • Support healthcare data exchanges and interoperability initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA requirements, security policies, and regulatory standards
  • Assist with interface security reviews and compliance-related activities
  • Support data migration and validation efforts across healthcare systems
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for interface-related initiatives
  • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and issues to stakeholders and leadership
  • Facilitate collaboration among business teams, vendors, infrastructure teams, and developers
  • Prepare status reports, presentations, and technical documentation
