About The Position

Stryker is seeking a Senior Interaction Designer to support the Endoscopy Systems R&D team in developing innovative surgical visualization and operating room integration products. This role is responsible for creating intuitive user experiences and digital interfaces through user-centered design, customer research, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective, and clinically meaningful solutions. This position is ideal for a designer looking to transition from a design agency into an in-house product development environment. A portfolio is required, demonstrating experience applying UX/UI design methodologies through a portfolio that highlights end-to-end product development, from concept generation to commercial launch.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Design in one of the following areas: interaction, visual communication, graphic, product, industrial, human computer interaction or related discipline
• Minimum of 2+ years of professional product design experience (physical and/or digital products), with a demonstrated track record of delivering products from concept through implementation.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma for UX/UI design, prototyping, and interaction design.
• Experience collaborating within software development and product development environments for embedded systems, including products that integrate both software and hardware components.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare, medical product development environment or experience in a regulated environment.
• Experience in designing for a range of unique physical environments, such as industry, healthcare, manufacturing, consumer.
• Familiarity with iterative processes like Agile Scrum and the tools and strategies that make those processes successful.
• Demonstrated experience of Human Factors studies, Ergonomics analysis and user research.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to better understand their needs, the needs of patients and the clinical environment.
• Develop concepts and prototypes for the purposes of better understanding the product needs, testing hypotheses and the establishment of product requirements.
• Create a cohesive & elegant user experience across both physical and digital touchpoints.
• Translate high-level design concepts into design descriptions and guidelines which can be used to brief the implementation R&D teams.
• Partner and communicate with technical engineers throughout development to launch.
• Balance creating the ideal user experience with other constraints such as business goals and time to market.
• Lead design reviews, communicate design concepts to key stakeholders, contribute to roadmap planning, and sprint planning.
• Be the primary designer on a number of projects and guide junior designers where required.
• Manage multiple priorities and timelines at once.
