Senior Integration and Test Engineer

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory•Cambridge, MA

About The Position

Draper is an independent, nonprofit research and development company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with more than 2,000 employees. Its multidisciplinary teams develop solutions for national challenges across areas including military defense, space exploration, and biomedical engineering. The System Integration and Test Engineer serves as a system integrator for technologies and product lines built using Draper's core capabilities. The role plans, executes, and manages integration and test activities from early test-concept development through system certification. Activities include functional simulation; subsystem and system integration and testing; verification and validation; performance evaluation; and acceptance testing. The engineer collaborates with Systems Engineers to establish clear, verifiable, traceable requirements and to inform system concepts, architectures, and designs that promote testability. The role also applies resident expertise and lessons learned to support highly reliable, robust, complex systems. The engineer takes ownership of assignments and leads tasks while tracking priorities, scope, cost, and schedule. They develop plans, approaches, and procedures for complex integration and test problems across a program lifecycle, contribute to technical reports and presentations, communicate technical information to stakeholders, identify and mitigate program- and system-level risks, and mentor less experienced engineers. Other duties may be assigned. This position is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The advertised US base salary range for this full-time position is $82,300 to $220,000. Draper describes workplace-flexibility programs, employee clubs, health and finance workshops, off-site social events, and discounts to local museums and cultural activities. Applicants selected for the position must obtain and maintain a government security clearance; a current in-scope Secret clearance or higher is desired.
