The role of the Senior Internal Insurance Strategist is to discuss needs with and sell life, long-term care and disability income insurance to the clients and advisors of accounts supported by Crumps Financial Institutions channel. This position involves leading clients through discovery, articulating identified gaps and opportunities, and describing solutions including life, long term care and disability income insurance to meet client needs. The strategist will manage daily activities, drive sales activity and pending business, and handle incoming calls directly from referral sources, as well as be available for pre-set calls with clients and their Advisors. A key responsibility is completing insurance applications and taking ownership of following cases through the underwriting process. The role requires explaining insurance products, their differences, and advantages to clients and advisors, and seeing all sales activity through to product purchase. The strategist must be knowledgeable in positioning life insurance within the financial planning process, including advanced estate planning strategies, ILIT's, Special Needs Trusts, positioning life insurance as an asset class, policy loans, taxation of life insurance, annual and lifetime gifting, wealth transfer/maximization strategies, and utilizing life insurance in business planning processes such as executive benefits. A complete understanding of the underwriting process and the strategist's role within it is essential.
