The Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will provide technical leadership and engineering support for complex industrial projects, including brownfield modifications, facility upgrades, and operational improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, operations, maintenance personnel, and project stakeholders to deliver safe, reliable, and effective instrumentation and control solutions.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration in Saskatchewan.
  • 10+ years of instrumentation and controls engineering experience.
  • Strong experience supporting mining, utility, heavy industrial, or operating facility environments.
  • Proven experience with brownfield projects, facility upgrades, and operational support.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, control strategies, and industrial automation.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commissioning, startup activities, and control system implementation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead instrumentation and controls engineering activities for industrial and utility projects.
  • Support brownfield modifications, control system upgrades, and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and review engineering deliverables, including instrumentation specifications, control philosophies, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support throughout project execution, construction, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, process, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Work with operations and maintenance teams to support existing facilities and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure engineering work complies with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance for instrumentation and control systems.
