This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days a week in the office and two days remote. Nuclear Power is a carbon-free energy source, and our clients are digitizing existing plants and building new ones, including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), due to increasing demand for electric power. This has led to an expansion in our Instrumentation and Controls Engineering group. Sargent & Lundy has a need for additional I&C Engineers to work on interesting and challenging projects within a project team environment. You will be involved in the design, modification, and analysis of instrumentation and control systems in new and existing power plants, investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical controls engineering issues. This includes Digital Systems Design Development (PLC, DCS, Touchscreens, network switches, control systems), functional requirement and procurement specifications for control systems, mechatronics and control systems for various plant equipment, critical digital asset cyber assessment, client meetings and site walkdowns, assisting project managers, preparing and reviewing calculations, interfacing with vendors, preparing reports, performing independent reviews, enhancing careers via professional Communities of Practice, and providing mentorship.
