About The Position

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Senior Instrumentation and Data Systems Enterprise Capability and Operations Leader to join our team in Seattle, WA or Berkeley, MO. This Enterprise Capability Leader (ECL) has two primary roles - leadership across the enterprise for the Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) capability and operational leadership for the region in which they are based. The I&DS ECL will lead and manage strategic plans and roadmaps, technology and capital investments, skill development and design practices. The ECL is responsible for guiding BTE’s instrumentation, data, and control systems strategies in the areas of technology, skills, and process development for the enterprise. This is accomplished through assembling and empowering the Enterprise I&DS Community while collaborating with other BT&E Test Capabilities to provide oversight and input in the appropriate regions to support successful development and deployment of people and instrumentation test systems. This position is also responsible for leading the teams of instrumentation test system developers and operators in their locale. This includes the definition, development & fabrication, and deployment of instrumentation test system solutions for several Lab Test disciplines. In the NW Labs this would include: Structures, Propulsion, Aerodynamics test, Airplane Systems, and Noise test labs. This position is also responsible for managing lab indirect budgets, lab facility management, and lab capital equipment management. This is accomplished through the team’s development, integration, and operation of data acquisition, control, and sensor technologies.

Requirements

  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 8+ years of experience leading and/or managing a team
  • 3+ years of experience developing or managing instrumentation and data systems

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees and managers performing activities within multiple Engineering disciplines
  • Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquire resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees and first line managers

  • Summary Pay Range: $198,900 - $287,500
  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
