  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge of current instrument technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
  • Experience working with clients and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with the company, suppliers, and clients, including remote teams in other countries.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States as a US citizen or Green Card holder.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using SmartPlant Instrumentation or Aveva.
  • Experience at a project site supporting construction or commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of the Instrument Index and Instrument Datasheets; develop these documents for small projects, or direct support-office engineers and review completed deliverables on large projects.
  • Support the Process discipline in developing P&IDs by assigning instrument tags, reviewing instrument symbology, attending internal and client P&ID review meetings, and redlining instrument content to reflect scope changes.
  • As an Instrument Requisition Engineer for instrument packages such as valves, gauges, transmitters, and flow meters, work with Supply Chain to develop request-for-quote packages, technical bid evaluations, requisitions for purchase, and supplier data reviews; coordinate with support-office engineers on large projects and independently complete much of the work on very small projects.
  • As a Mechanical Package Support Engineer, support the Mechanical discipline by providing I&C requirements for requisition packages, participating in technical bid evaluations, reviewing supplier data, and attending factory testing.
  • Provide support for project automation scopes as needed, including developing cause-and-effect diagrams, motor control schematics, or complex loop descriptions.
  • Travel to project sites for inspections or testing and to supplier facilities for factory acceptance testing of mechanical and automation packages, as required.
  • Mentor early-career engineers as required.
