About The Position

The University of Central Missouri is seeking a Senior Instructor for the Department of Computer Science & Cybersecurity in Warrensburg, MO. This role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in various fields including computer science, cybersecurity, data science, agricultural economics, information technology, and software engineering. The instructor will also contribute to school and university committee work, advise students, develop new courses, and maintain relationships with program stakeholders to foster student internship and research opportunities. Travel to the Lee’s Summit, MO campus may be required up to 15% of the time.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Agricultural Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach data science, computer science, or agricultural economics courses at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
• A background check is required for the selected candidate of all staff, faculty, adjunct, and temporary positions and any job offer is contingent on the results of this check.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in computer science, cybersecurity, data science, agricultural economics, information technology or software engineering.
• Assist with school and university committee work and service activities.
• Advise students majoring in computer science and software engineering.
• Develop new courses based on expertise in field and school needs, program accreditation, and assessment.
• Develop and maintain existing relationships with program stakeholders, including those connected to student internship and research opportunities.
