About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Instructor for Chillers to join their Building Efficiency product portfolio team. This role involves teaching technical curriculum to JCI customers, becoming a subject matter expert on York chillers, and partnering with instructional designers. The position offers opportunities to travel across North America, deliver virtual and in-person training, and contribute to the development of impactful and inventive training solutions. The role also emphasizes continuous learning about energy conservation and environmental protection.

Requirements

  • Understand and communicate the theoretical and practical function, applications, and operations of Chiller equipment and components.
  • Five plus years of experience with York chillers is ideal.
  • Experience in performing operational checks, monitoring operations, and troubleshooting & startup of York chillers.
  • Five plus years of experience operating and troubleshooting Chiller equipment.
  • Strong writing, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Education, or a related field.
  • Collaborative attitude, working with IDs, learning professionals, product managers, program managers, and stakeholders.
  • Professional ethics, quality work, and a positive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with training, coaching, or teaching is very desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned learning sessions, including live classroom and web-based sessions (synchronous or asynchronous).
  • Adapt instruction and facilitation style to suit the audience, content, and technology.
  • Facilitate learning of advanced-level materials, processes, and systems, or in multiple areas of expertise.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in new technology, products, or processes and contribute to the development of learning materials.
  • Arrange for an appropriate learning environment, including room setup, audiovisual equipment, and technical equipment.
  • Measure the results of technical training using appropriate methods.
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners on their understanding and performance.
  • Continuously update and improve delivery and coaching skills, including the use of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with the design and development team to create learning solutions on time and on budget.
  • Maintain and upgrade lab equipment and computers used in training.
