About The Position

RK&K is hiring a Senior Roadway Inspector to join our CEI team in the Chipley, Florida area. This position is in our Construction Management group which oversees Contractors on roadway construction projects.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in roadway or bridge construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in roadway construction inspection.
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
• CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
• CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I and Level II
• CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I and Level II
• CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
• CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
• CTQP Final Estimates I

Nice To Haves

• Previous FDOT roadway and/or bridge construction inspection experience
• Critical Structures Construction Issues certification
• FDOT Self Study Computer Based Training course completion
• Supervised two or more inspectors and directly responsible for all inspection requirements related to the construction operations assigned

Responsibilities

• Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations.
• Assisting the Project Administrator in daily roadway inspection.
• Ensuring contractor compliance alongside quality control.
• Performing inspections and testing as required.
• Testing and inspections include but are not limited to earthwork, asphalt, concrete, bridge structures, lighting, pavement markings, signing and signalization, and other roadway safety components.
• Providing general management, supervision, and instruction for the CEI Inspectors.
