Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge- $7500 Sign on Bonus
About The Position
AECOM is seeking an experienced Senior Inspector, Highway & Bridge to perform construction engineering and inspections on a variety of construction projects including railroads, bridges and highways in Connecticut. This position is on site in Rocky Hill, CT. Requirements
- High school diploma/GED and 8 years of related experience performing inspections on related bridge and/or roadway construction projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Nice To Haves
- NICET certification Level 3 (or ability to obtain required level)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules as needed for projects, including overnight work.
- Experience working with Connecticut Dept. of Transportation (CTDOT)
Responsibilities
- Performing assignments in construction layout, making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
- Under minimal direction, relies on experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Construction Project Manager.
- Setting own project deadlines.
- Provides on the job training to new employees.
- Monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
- Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
- Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.
- Tracks quality assurance progress.
- Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.
