About The Position

Join a leading banking client as a Senior Insider Threat Analyst and play a critical part in safeguarding sensitive information and business assets. Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security Operations, you will be a keystone in the development, implementation, and operation of a modern Insider Threat Program. This fully remote, 3+ month contract offers the potential for extension or full-time conversion, providing the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a direct impact on organizational security.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Criminal Justice, or related field) or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Cyber Security, Incident Response, Security Operations, Digital Forensics, or Threat Detection.
• Minimum 2 years in Insider Threat, Insider Risk, Data Protection, or User Activity Monitoring.
• Hands-on expertise with DLP technologies (such as Microsoft Purview, Netskope DLP).
• Experience with case management tools (e.g., Resilient, ServiceNow).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns in large data sets.
• Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Security certifications such as ISACA, Security+, GSEC, or GCIH.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with mature Insider Threat or Risk Management programs.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management, Exabeam, ObserveIT, DTEX, Proofpoint, Forcepoint.
• Familiarity with SIEM technologies (Splunk, CrowdStrike), UEBA, and cloud investigations (Microsoft 365/Azure).
• Understanding of legal, privacy, and regulatory issues in insider threat investigations.
• Experience in SOC environments and supporting global, cross-functional teams.
• Advanced certifications: CISSP, GCFA, GCTI, ITPM, Microsoft Security.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor and analyze user activity, data loss prevention events, and behavioral indicators to detect and mitigate insider threats.
• Investigate potential insider threat activity, including data exfiltration, fraud, intellectual property theft, and policy violations.
• Utilize multiple technologies and data sources (including DLP, SIEM, user activity monitoring) to identify and assess suspicious behavior.
• Document investigative findings, recommend mitigation actions, and collaborate with Incident Response for advanced cases.
• Develop and refine detection rules, analytic use cases, and behavioral monitoring techniques to enhance detection capabilities.
• Support the evolution of the Insider Threat Program by identifying opportunities for automation, analytics, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with Cyber Threat Intelligence, Data Protection, HR, Legal, and Compliance teams for comprehensive investigations and risk management.
• Contribute to awareness campaigns, executive reporting, and program metrics to strengthen security culture and program maturity.
