VF Corporation•Denver, CO
•$96,768 - $120,960

About The Position

The Senior Innovation Designer for Performance Footwear is a strategic creative leader responsible for shaping the future of the brand’s high-performance product ecosystem. The role leads discovery, design, and validation of breakthrough concepts at the intersection of design, biomechanics, engineering, and emerging technology. It leads complex projects, mentors teammates, and influences long-term innovation strategy, turning unproven ideas into validated, scalable solutions. The designer leads innovation projects from insight development through validated concept handoff; develops opportunity areas and contributes to multi-year roadmaps; and creates and evaluates concepts across cushioning, traction, upper construction, fit systems, and emerging technologies. The role builds advanced prototypes, collaborates with engineering, materials, and sports science teams to evaluate and refine solutions, and translates findings into design criteria, technical specifications, and performance requirements. As design lead for multidisciplinary teams, the Senior Innovation Designer mentors junior designers and helps deliver validated, manufacturable concepts for future product lines. The role presents concepts to executives, category leaders, athletes, and partners; protects design intent through prototyping and development; and produces concept decks, functional briefs, technical specifications, and design rationale. Success means advancing athlete performance, strengthening competitive advantage, elevating innovation design, and creating clarity and alignment across complex projects.
