About The Position

CoinTracker is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate the platform that powers both their consumer tax product and Nino, their AI-driven personal finance tool. This role involves scaling databases, automating deployments, and establishing the infrastructure foundation for AI-powered features. The infrastructure directly impacts user experience, especially during peak times like tax season. The one-year outcomes for this role include ensuring 99.9%+ uptime during tax season through automated autoscaling and SLO-based alerting, reducing deployment lead time by 50% for faster feature shipping, establishing the AI/ML infrastructure foundation on GCP, and improving database performance at scale through tuning and automated regression detection.

Kubernetes proficiency (cluster management, Workload Identity, autoscaling, PodDisruptionBudgets, node pools).
Database operations at scale (PostgreSQL/AlloyDB read pools, connection pooling, capacity planning).
Experience with high-traffic web applications (handling seasonal spikes, zero-downtime deploys, rapid rollback).
Experience with monitoring and observability (alerting strategies, SLO/SLI definition).

Responsibilities

Operate and scale GKE clusters with KEDA-driven autoscaling.
Manage database infrastructure including primary instances, read pools, connection pooling, and PSC networking.
Maintain Redis caching layers for session and data caching.
Operate GitOps pipelines and image-driven promotion workflows.
Develop and maintain Helm charts for consistent deployments.
Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, including monitors, dashboards, and metric routing.
Secure the platform with Cloudflare integration, Cloud Armor WAF, CloudOrigin CA TLS certificates, and GCP Secret Manager.
Partner with backend and AI teams to establish staging environments for experimentation and feature shipping.
