About The Position
AfterQuery is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to build novel datasets and data infrastructure for frontier AI labs. The company has 85 employees, has raised $34M, and is located in San Francisco.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of platform infrastructure experience with full-stack capability.
- Proven track record of building scalable, reliable, high-throughput systems.
- Experience with Node.js, Python, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch, AWS/GCP.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers.
- Must be able to work on-site 5 days a week in FiDi, San Francisco.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with HITL data or high-growth startups is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core shared infrastructure for data generation, HITL systems, and eval pipelines.
- Own foundational systems for scale and reliability.
- Provide platform and services to vertical engineering teams.
- Architect distributed systems for large-scale, high-throughput workloads.
- Set engineering best practices and mentor the junior team.

- Base salary: $250K-$350K
- OTE: $300K-$450K (bonus up to $100K)
