About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Industrial Security Specialist - Communications Security (COMSEC) Custodian to join the team in Hazelwood, MO. This position will be responsible for supporting the COMSEC efforts in St. Louis, MO. You will perform COMSEC Custodian responsibilities (including key and equipment distribution, inventory, and destruction) in compliance with customer regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed Tier 5 Investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or requires candidate to have been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting program within the last 5 years
  • Current Communication Security (COMSEC) Training Certificate
  • 5+ years of experience with COMSEC accountability software
  • 3+ years of experience working in one or a combination of the following domains: NISP, SAP and/or SCI
  • 3+ years of experience in Industrial Security
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of this role, including extended periods of walking, standing, and climbing steps within indoor and outdoor environments
  • Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling and lifting
  • Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 15 feet and stairs on a regular basis
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Willing and able to work in confined spaces
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct secure equipment (e.g., secure telephone and encryption devices) and classified keying material inventories, inspections and other COMSEC related support and oversight functions
  • Perform installation of secure telephone equipment (STE) and coordinate to deliver encryption device(s) and keying material to select Information Technology (IT) specialist maintaining classified networks
  • Maintain records and accountability of COMSEC materials site wide
  • Ensure COMSEC materials are properly received, hand-receipted and transferred
  • Acquire and issue materials to program personnel
  • Conduct inventories per agency policy and report any discrepancy to government customer
  • Courier classified information and authors receipt for classified materials
  • Enforce compliance with United States Government (USG) COMSEC standards by team members by providing security education and training on operating procedures
  • Ensure Automated Information Systems Security requirements, related to COMSEC duties, are in compliance
  • Train personnel in COMSEC procedures and the use of related equipment
  • Work in an open production environment, using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and requiring the use of basic tools, and observing production facility requirements
  • Access equipment in confined, elevated, or hard-to-reach areas, which may include: climbing ladders walking on aircraft wings or surfaces crawling around aircraft or other confined spaces reaching under desks or equipment opening storage units and accessing upper and lower shelves
