About The Position

ProSidian seeks a Senior Industrial Hygienist I | Industrial Hygiene (IH) for Program Support on an Exempt Basis for Working On-Site (Client Site) in The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Area (Aiken, South Carolina) Contract Contingent, generally located across the Aiken, South Carolina Across The Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region supporting a High-hazard nuclear cleanup environment requiring disciplined staffing, safety, quality, security, and regulatory compliance. This role is aligned with GSA Labor Category: Environmental Specialist Level III. This role shall be principally focused on ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Industrial Hygiene (IH) Solutions and Services. We seek Senior Industrial Hygienist I candidates with relevant Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector Clients such as SRMC. This is a Contract Contingent or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) Industrial Hygiene (IH) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline Professional - ProSidian Strategic Resourcing and Professional Staff Augmentation for Industrial Hygiene (IH) Solutions and Services Position; however, ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. The Environmental Specialist Level III role(s) are located in the Southeast | South Atlantic | CONUS Region, at or near Aiken, South Carolina. The role provides services and support as a Senior Industrial Hygienist I aligned with the Industrial Hygiene (IH) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Industry Sector. This role focuses on Human Capital | Project Management | Engineering | Environmental | Compliance | Risk Management | IT Effectiveness | Business Process | Training Knowledge Management Solutions for clients such as Savannah River Mission Completion, LLC (SRMC) | SRMC Supply Chain / Procurement supporting the Liquid Waste Program under DOE prime contract 89303322DEM000068. The position provides Industrial Hygiene (IH) Services and Solutions as a ProSidian Engagement Team Member working in a capacity that supports industrial hygiene activities through planning, analysis, coordination, documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and stakeholder support. The primary goal is to protect worker health by recognizing, evaluating, and controlling occupational and environmental exposures before they cause harm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science and 3+ years related experience OR; Bachelor’s degree in a non-technical discipline and 4+ years relevant experience OR; Master’s degree or higher in Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related physical or biological science
  • This position aligns with functional and technical requirements in the Nuclear And Environmental Management Sector and Senior Industrial Hygienist I Candidates principally support Industrial Hygiene (IH) Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Disciplines.
  • Primarily focused on Management and Financial Consulting, Acquisition and Grants Management Support, and Business Program and Project Management Services initiatives and aligned with Program Support activities Industrial Hygiene (IH) Functional Area Activities.
  • Exposure assessment; sampling strategies; ventilation; respiratory protection; chemical and physical hazards; ergonomics; OSHA/DOE compliance; technical reports

Nice To Haves

  • Understands and applies advanced technical knowledge of IH regulations, standard concepts, practices, principles, and techniques; has working knowledge of pertinent IH practices and applications.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in an integrated program (respirators, confined space work, field instrumentation).
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Degree from ABET accredited institution for industrial hygiene
  • Radiological Worker trained

Responsibilities

  • Safety is a primary responsibility in each job performed. Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and make safety an integral part of each task. Take necessary steps to stop work if continuing the activity is unsafe or will create and unsafe condition.
  • Conducts the monitoring of workplace environments by analyzing work operations, processes, materials, equipment, and work habits of employees
  • Performs advanced assessments of work exposures; designs basic to complex exposure monitoring strategies
  • Measures the magnitude of exposure to workers from environmental hazards by selecting or devising methods and instrumentation suitable for such measurements; and presents specific conclusions and recommendations to appropriate management groups
  • Educates employees on practices, precautions, and procedures
  • Audits programs and conditions at assigned facilities; provides written reports of findings with recommendations for improvement (where needed)
  • Incorporates complete understanding of Industrial Hygiene (IH) practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and programmatic planning where specific detailed objectives are stated
  • Performs comprehensive practices of IH by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling environmental factors or stresses in the workplace
  • Provides limited guidance and direction to less senior IH professionals.
  • Carries out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases of assignment
  • Ensures compliance with technical regulatory requirements
  • Develops alternate solutions to existing problems, performing all necessary detail work
  • Evaluates proposals and makes recommendations based on proposed Project s/tasks
  • Prepares manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing technical effort
  • Develops and leads implementation of total quality and continuous improvement initiatives within the group
  • Other duties as assigned
