About The Position

The senior income tax analyst role supports federal and state income tax compliance and reporting activities for the organization. The position partners closely with management, the U.S. parent company’s tax team, and external consultants to prepare and consolidated federal and state tax returns, improve compliance processes, and support tax planning initiatives. Responsibilities include assisting with income tax provisions, researching and resolving tax matters, maintaining tax depreciation systems, and supporting special projects. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration across internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance and accounting for income taxes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in federal / state income tax, with an emphasis on corporate tax in either a Fortune 500 company or a national / regional public accounting firm.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with accounting for income taxes under ASC 740 / IAS 12
  • Knowledge and experience with accounting for income taxes under ASC 740 / IAS12.
  • Skilled in identifying tax planning opportunities, mitigating risks, and leveraging data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate complex tax concepts to cross-functional stakeholders, fostering alignment and compliance.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, including the ability to coordinate and balance numerous tasks in a time-sensitive fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify issues and generate creative solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support management in the federal and state tax compliance activities including gathering and analyzing information needed to prepare federal and state income tax returns.
  • Prepare state tax estimated and extension payments.
  • Collaborate with the US parent company’s tax group on consolidating the US federal and state tax returns.
  • Contribute to developing and/or improving income tax compliance processes.
  • Assist with special projects such as research and development tax credit claims, research projects, and tax planning projects.
  • Assist with resolving and responding to tax notices from state tax jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with management and external consultants to implement and maintain tax depreciation system.
  • Prepare quarterly income tax provision calculation in accordance with ASC 740 / IAS12 including calculating book to tax adjustments and reconciliation of general ledger tax accounts.
  • Prepare and assist management with responding to tax accounting consolidation requests from the Company’s top parent company.
  • Prepare memorandums related to book to tax differences and / or income tax accounting issues, as necessary.
  • Assist with forecasting federal and state income tax expense to be used in developing the Company’s budget / business plan.
  • Assist with responding to requests from external auditors related to the quarterly reviews and / or annual audit of the tax provision and accrual.
  • Assist management with developing and maintaining SOX compliant internal controls for the tax accounting function.
  • Assist with the preparation of the US deferred tax proof and return to provision process.
