About The Position

Public Storage is seeking a highly experienced Senior Income Tax Analyst to support the Income Tax Team in the preparation, review, and management of complex partnership returns and REIT-related tax compliance. This is a hands-on role requiring advanced technical knowledge of partnership taxation and significant experience using OneSource Tax Software to prepare and manage federal and state tax filings. The ideal candidate will take ownership of key compliance processes, assist with resolving tax issues, and contribute to workflow efficiencies within a large, sophisticated REIT tax environment.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant real estate experience in public accounting and/or private industry environment required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency with OneSource Tax Software and demonstrated ability to navigate tax software to prepare returns and manage compliance.
  • Strong technical understanding of partnership taxation, including complex partnership structures, K-1 preparation, allocations, distributions, and ownership changes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with the internal team.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and support a high-volume tax function
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions or requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous REIT experience is strongly preferred.
  • Pursuing CPA license, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with partnership tax issues such as IRC Section 704(c) allocations, distributions, changes in ownership, composite and withholding requirements on behalf of partners, and maintenance of capital accounts.
  • Utilize OneSource Tax Software to prepare, review, and file tax returns efficiently. Leverage the platform for accurate data management, compliance, reporting, and streamline workflows.
  • Ensure comprehensive and well-organized documentation is maintained to support all tax positions, analyses, and filings.
  • Manage tax notices and correspondence from taxing authorities. Perform tax research as needed, to support technical positions and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with the implementation, evaluation, and enhancement of tax processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with multi-state partnership and composite filings, including identifying filing requirements and tracking compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax workpapers for external service providers and support the review of deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
