About The Position

Katana is a remote-first, AI-first SaaS company building powerful inventory and manufacturing software for over 1,500 businesses worldwide. We are entering a new phase of expansion, targeting larger, more complex businesses. This role offers the opportunity to own challenging problems and see your work implemented at scale. You will be responsible for bringing complex customer implementations to life and developing solutions, tooling, and playbooks for the wider Solution Engineering team. This is a revenue-enabling role with significant ownership and direct impact. This position is for an individual who excels at making our most complex customers successful. As a Senior Implementation Engineer, you will manage the complete, hands-on delivery of Katana for our highest-value and most technically demanding accounts. This includes technical discovery, system architecture, integrations, data migration, configuration, and go-live. You will be actively involved in building integrations, mapping workflows, and migrating data, ensuring customers go live with confidence. A strong understanding of inventory and manufacturing operations, as well as surrounding systems like Shopify, WooCommerce, accounting, shipping, and EDI, is crucial. Experience with AI tools like Claude for building solutions and accelerators is also expected. This is a high-touch, customer-facing role requiring constant dialogue with clients. It is not a project management or training role; the focus is on technical implementation. We are looking for individuals who have a proven track record of building and successfully launching customer implementations.

Requirements

  • A track record of leading full software implementations end-to-end for high-value or complex accounts in B2B SaaS, ERP, MRP, or inventory and manufacturing software.
  • Direct, hands-on experience with inventory and manufacturing operations, understanding production, stock, and fulfillment across channels and locations.
  • Hands-on API and integration experience: building or configuring integrations across e-commerce (Shopify, WooCommerce), accounting, shipping, and EDI.
  • Comfort working directly in systems: configuring, mapping and migrating data, troubleshooting integrations, and building workarounds.
  • Strong technical discovery and solution design skills; ability to translate real-world operations into working systems.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to lead technical conversations and explain complex setups clearly.
  • Comfort with AI and a desire to build with it; willingness to use tools like Claude to solve complex problems and increase speed.
  • Builder and finisher mindset; pride in clean cutovers and owning implementations to go-live.
  • Hands-on approach; preference for building integrations over writing specifications.
  • Ability to remain calm under complexity, energized by dirty data, tight go-live dates, and multi-system integrations.
  • Customer-grounded approach; caring about the customer's operation running smoothly.
  • Adaptable and continuously learning; comfortable with change and figuring out new systems, edge cases, or tools.
  • Acts like an owner and leads without a title; brings own structure, closes gaps proactively, and sets standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Scripting experience (JavaScript, Python, SQL).
  • Experience with iPaaS or middleware (Make, Zapier).
  • Experience with MRP, ERP, or inventory platforms.
  • Prior experience building with Claude or Claude Code, even for personal projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end implementation of Katana for high-value and complex accounts, including discovery, solution design, integrations, data migration, configuration, and go-live.
  • Design the target system architecture for each account, mapping real-world manufacturing, inventory, and fulfillment workflows into a working Katana configuration.
  • Lead data migration and setup for bills of materials, product and material catalogs, stock, suppliers, and historical data, ensuring data integrity at go-live.
  • Build and configure integrations between Katana and customer systems (Shopify, WooCommerce, accounting, shipping, EDI) using native connectors, APIs, and middleware.
  • Develop custom solutions, scripts, and workarounds via API, automation tooling, and middleware to meet advanced requirements.
  • Utilize AI as a core delivery tool to build accelerators, tooling, and solutions that improve the speed and quality of go-lives.
  • Build reusable integration solutions, migration tooling, and playbooks to enhance delivery speed and quality across the Solution Engineering team.
  • Participate in pre-sales calls to validate technical fit and integration feasibility.
  • Partner with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product to scope and escalate work beyond configuration.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to ensure smooth launches for complex accounts and mentor Solutions Engineers on implementation and API techniques.

Benefits

  • Market-aligned base salary
  • Employee Stock Option Program
  • Genuinely encouraged time off: statutory annual leave (minimum 4 weeks), 3 paid health days annually, and your birthday off.
  • Fully paid 1-month sabbatical + 1,000 EUR travel budget after every four years at Katana.
  • Home office stipend.
  • Health & wellness package through Sun Life.
  • Modern tools and tech, including AI-enabled tools.
