About The Position

This position is for a Senior I&C Engineer within Kiewit Power Engineering, a full-service consulting and engineering firm serving the infrastructure and engineering markets. The Power district is a multi-faceted division focused on the EPC delivery model for power facilities, offering services including owner's engineering, project development, detailed engineering and design, construction management, and plant services. The role involves working on exciting projects throughout North America, collaborating with Kiewit's construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative designs. Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university
• At least 10 years’ experience in instrumentation and controls engineering and design performing engineering related duties
• A minimum of 3 years in the power generation market preferred
• Familiarity with control system programming concepts
• Experience with SCADA systems and PLC
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
• Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
• Displays leadership and confidence to mentor peers

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
• DCS system experience considered desirable

Responsibilities

• Act as a lead or support engineer on pursuits and projects, providing technical solutions for SCADA system replacement/upgrades and other I&C projects for power facilities.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
• Incorporate contractual requirements, including RFPs and professional service agreements, to ensure projects meet or exceed goals.
• Contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates; lead cost, feasibility, and planning studies; analyze customer needs and data; and provide recommendations.
• Develop and apply a comprehensive understanding of departmental design, industry standards, applicable codes, and Kiewit guidelines to oversee the preparation of design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Formulate technical specifications, perform bid evaluations, develop recommendations for equipment selection and contract award, and prepare interface points with construction partners and equipment suppliers.
• Schedule, review, and coordinate design efforts with other project personnel.
• Oversee and/or direct performance of supplier shop drawing review, comment resolution, and approval; perform technical contract administration.
• Mentor and direct the work of entry and mid-level employees, reviewing their progress and providing coaching.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, including cross-discipline teams, construction, vendors, fabricators, and owners, to address electrical/I&C design concepts, issues, or concerns.
