This specific role is within the Mining Environmental Group, based in Vancouver, and involves a hybrid work schedule. The Senior Hydrogeologist will contribute to high-quality hydrogeological and environmental services, focusing on mine waste and water management. The role offers opportunities for professional development through challenging projects in both field and office settings, covering areas like tailings and water storage dams, mine water management, dewatering, water supply, and contaminant hydrogeology. The position also involves conducting groundwater and hydrochemical analysis and modeling, contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering projects, and providing input to team and project success.

Requirements

  • A degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geological engineering, with a track record of continued development
  • At least fifteen years’ experience in hydrogeology including related to tailings and water storage dams, mine water management, dewatering, water supply, contaminant hydrogeology.
  • Experience designing, installing and field testing of wells for water supply projects, aquifer feasibility studies, dewatering / depressurization and monitoring projects.
  • Experience in implementing and undertaking groundwater and environmental monitoring and sampling programs.
  • Working knowledge of industry standard software packages including: AQTESOLV, AquiferTest, Surfer, AquaChem, Geochemist’s Workbench, RockWorks and GIS software.
  • Eligibility to become professionally registered in Canada.
  • An ability to build relationships with multidisciplinary project-based teams.
  • Experience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements
