About The Position

The Senior HVAC/R Tech performs and oversees preventive maintenance and repairs of existing equipment and plans and executes upgrades and new installations of HVAC/R equipment. This position serves as the property expert on HVAC/R equipment and mentors other technicians. The role is based at Deloitte University Hotel & Conference Center, a private hotel and conference center in Westlake, Texas. The position is full-time, with shift times that vary and availability required on weekends and holidays. Pay is $26–$32+ per hour, depending on experience and other candidate-specific factors.

Requirements

• Four years of experience in a similar HVAC/R position.
• EPA CFC Type I and Type II certification.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and plumbing blueprints.
• Skill in using tools required for the trade.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or higher in HVAC/R or a related field.
• HVAC certification.
• EPA Universal certification.
• Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the property expert on all HVAC/R equipment.
• Complete HVAC/R work orders at the property, producing quality results efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain organized logs.
• Identify problems, initiate and complete assigned work orders, and make necessary repairs within the area of expertise.
• Perform duty rounds using daily checklists; report and correct noted problems.
• Coach and mentor other technicians to help enhance their skills.
• Audit and inspect other technicians’ work and provide feedback as needed.
• Use building systems, including the Building Management System and Life Safety Systems, correctly; training is provided.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace and maintain inventory of tools in use.
• Work safely, use PPE properly, and follow safety protocols.
• Use the maintenance request system correctly; training is provided.
• Assist with maintenance requests for other trades as needed.
