About The Position

The HR and Advisory Services team provides strategic advice and proactive support to our business partners to advance business strategies, leadership, and cultural imperatives at CIBC. As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner dedicated to the Global Technology team, you'll provide high-impact, proactive support to leaders and teams, equipping them with the tools and guidance needed to excel in a fast-changing environment. Leveraging your deep expertise in human resources, you'll deliver value-added counsel across all facets of HR, including performance management, rewards and recognition, organizational design, talent and succession planning, employee relations, and inclusion and diversity. You'll act as a trusted advisor, navigating the demands of the Global Technology team, advocating for business-specific HR priorities, and collaborating with HR Centres of Excellence to develop and implement tailored solutions. Your ability to operate with urgency, anticipate challenges, and drive results will be essential to supporting our Global Technology teams. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Requirements

  • Relevant HR experience.
  • Experience in an HR Generalist or consulting role.
  • Solid understanding of HR concepts, policies, practices, and governance/legislation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial institutions or technology environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to working within a financial institution (FI) or a technology environment will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to build a client-focused culture supported by the right employee capabilities, helping CIBC become #1 in client relationships.
  • Champion a strong employee experience that contributes to exceptional client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (CoE) partners to develop integrated talent strategies and solutions.
  • Support the business in acquiring, developing, and retaining top talent to meet current and future needs, and help leaders tackle their key talent priorities.
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of annual Corporate HR initiatives related to Performance Management, Talent Planning, Base Pay, and Incentive Pay.
  • Ensure the needs of client groups and Corporate HR are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Anticipate and plan for future human capability needs by analyzing workforce information, interpreting employee survey results, and discussing key issues with business and HR leaders.
  • Reinforce appropriate application of HR policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with CIBC's vision, mission, and values, as well as adherence to legislative requirements.
