As the Senior HR Generalist, you play a critical role in shaping the employee experience at Western Computer. You participate in key people programs, support our team’s operational excellence, and serve as a trusted partner to employees and managers. From onboarding and compliance to benefits support and employee engagement, you help ensure our people feel supported, heard, and empowered.

Requirements

  • 4+ years HR experience
  • Experience in, compliance, benefits, payroll, and performance management
  • Multi-state and Canadian employment law knowledge
  • HRIS experience
  • Strong communication and coaching skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing People strategies that foster a high-performance culture and support business growth.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of People processes, tools, and infrastructure to enhance the employee lifecycle and overall experience.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Western’s People policies and procedures, communicating clearly and consistently across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international employment laws and regulations.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate documentation for international travel and employment.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in TriNet and other platforms.
  • Assist with identifying and upgrading HRIS System
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance People services and systems; partner with the Director of People to implement improvements.
  • Maintain data integrity across HRIS and people systems.
  • Produce and analyze people metrics including headcount, turnover, retention, hiring, engagement, and training completion.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Recommend process improvements based on HR data and trends.
  • Support audits and reporting requests as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Director of People coach managers on employee relations matters, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace best practices.
  • In collaboration with the Director of People participate in offboarding activities including exit interviews, offboarding coordination, etc.
  • Analyze exit trends, and recommend retention and engagement improvements based on findings.
  • Process documentation for compensation changes, promotions, and adjustments.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and serve as the primary liaison between employees, vendors, and TriNet.
  • Coordinate FMLA, leave paperwork, and related documentation with TriNet.
  • In collaboration with stakeholders, own and continuously improve the end-to-end onboarding experience to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
  • Coordinate pre-boarding tasks such as equipment orders, system access, and welcome materials in partnership with IT and hiring managers.
  • Deliver engaging orientation sessions that cover company values, policies, tools, and cultural norms.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop and support tailored 30/60/90-day onboarding plans, ensuring clear role expectations and regular check-ins.
  • Monitor new hire progress, gather feedback, and adjust onboarding programs as needed to improve clarity, connection, and ramp-up.
  • Track onboarding completion and progress in HRIS and other systems; follow up on outstanding tasks.
  • Support internal transitions (e.g., promotions or team changes) with appropriate onboarding touchpoints.
  • Oversee semi-monthly and off-cycle payroll processing in partnership with TriNet.
  • Ensure accuracy of pay by auditing timesheets, PTO entries, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll inputs.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Coordinate with Finance to align on reporting and reconciliation processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute employee engagement initiatives, including company events, competitions, recognition programs, and interactive campaigns that promote collaboration, connection, and a positive workplace culture.
