POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Human Resources Generalist administers human resources policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs. This role promotes equity, fair treatment, and positive employee relations while ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws. Key responsibilities include recruitment and retention of critical talent, continuous performance coaching, proactive issue/problem identification and resolution, and coaching for improved decision-making and communication skills. The role requires an understanding and support of business goals, building credible relationships within the HR team for better decisions and organizational effectiveness, and involvement in solving complex HR-related issues. The Senior Human Resources Generalist will provide an approachable, proactive, and efficient department, keeping co-workers informed and working independently with guidance from the VP of HR.

Requirements

  • Minimum associate’s degree in human resources or business with 5 years or more of HR Experience.
  • Proficient with ADP WFN including payroll, benefits enrollment, and other HR related tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, approachability, and strong listening skills under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • PHR Certified Professional and/or SHRM-CP certification
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential information/situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or 4-6 years of HR related experience and proven HR applied proficiency in several HR functional areas.
  • Travel to other out-of-state locations may be required.
  • Must be able to work on government contracts

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily workflow and carries out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintains related records.
  • Complete knowledge of company policies, programs and procedures and informs employee and management on the interpretation of policies.
  • Support employee questions on benefits, payroll, policies, wellness, etc.
  • Handles full cycle recruiting for timely hiring qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for the openings.
  • Conducts new hire orientation and manage HR onboarding process.
  • Back up for bi- weekly payroll processing, verifying timecard accuracy and maintaining accurate ADP data. May run ADP reports.
  • Timely response to employment-related inquiries from employees and staff, related to complex and/or sensitive matters with guidance from VP Human Resources.
  • Process terminations and conduct exit interviews for HQ employees.
  • Provide HR metric reports to HR team via ADP dashboard and manage dashboard reports.
  • Update ADP portal and other HR resources.
  • Participate and/or may lead an HR company-wide strategic initiative with guidance from VP Human Resources.
  • Coordinate/schedules HR complaint training programs.
  • Support Change Management initiatives.
  • Participates in requested HR team meetings.
  • Manage Wellness Program administration, communication, etc. Assist with Wellness initiatives and Serve as HQ Wellness champion.
  • Reconcile benefits for Finance.
  • Support Benefit Open Enrollment process.
  • Liaison between the Employee Ownership Team.
  • Support Performance Management administration and Career Development utilizing the Career Pathway tools & process with guidance from Sr. HRBP.
  • Stays current and must be versed with HR compliance on federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and best practices.
  • May be required to provide HR support at multiple sites.
  • Perform other duties and project work as assigned.
